The Design Engineer is usually involved in the front end design, typically taking the leadership role in the Schematic Design and Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.
The main contractor is the supervisory contractor of all construction work on a project, management of sub-contractors and vendors, etc. May be referred to as "Construction Manager," however, for consistency CTBUH uses the term "Main Contractor" exclusively.

Usually involved in the front end design, with a "typical" condition being that of a leadership role through either Schematic Design or Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.

Material Supplier refers to organizations which supplied significant systems/materials for a building project (e.g. elevator suppliers, facade suppliers, etc).
The tripartite concept of the I-tower started with its three primary programs – Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) headquarters, a UN office and a rental office zone. The three basic program volumes are the office tower, the culture wing and public service wing. Six-story atria are oriented in four different directions, and exterior louvers can be adjusted to match solar conditions. The inverse-sloped atrium varies the floor plans and provides different activity spaces and various conditions for rental office user.
The volume of the building has sliced out the pyramid shape around the corner, and gives a triangular cladding line to the elevations. The upside-down pyramidal mass on the top of the building is major feature of the project. It was planned for the directors of IFEZ and VIP receptions. Underneath the mass is the observation deck and roof garden for all users. In order to achieve the spacious open area with anti-gravity slope shape, a mega-truss structure was required.
