The Design Engineer is usually involved in the front end design, typically taking the leadership role in the Schematic Design and Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.
The main contractor is the supervisory contractor of all construction work on a project, management of sub-contractors and vendors, etc. May be referred to as "Construction Manager," however, for consistency CTBUH uses the term "Main Contractor" exclusively.

Usually involved in the front end design, with a "typical" condition being that of a leadership role through either Schematic Design or Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.

The CTBUH lists a project manager when a specific firm has been commissioned to oversee this aspect of a tall building’s design/construction. When the project management efforts are handled by the developer, main contract, or architect, this field will be omitted.

Other Consultant refers to other organizations which provided significant consultation services for a building project (e.g. wind consultants, environmental consultants, fire and life safety consultants, etc).
The Godfrey Hotel stands as a kind of redemption of an ambitious, but stalled project, resulting in an improvement on the original concept. The original project intended to accommodate a low-amenity extended-stay suite hotel but was halted by the economic downturn of 2008. The partially constructed structure, wrapped in a tarp, was nicknamed “The Mummy,” and began to rust. Fortunately, the unusual staggered steel truss frame design drew the attention of a new developer, which in 2011 engaged the original architect, to finish the project as a “boutique / lifestyle” hotel.
The metal-skinned, shifted-box structure was re-clad, and the interiors adjusted to fully embrace the structurally expressive design. Guest room views are occasionally interrupted by a plunging K-brace, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but will appeal to aficionados of Modernism and Chicago’s brawny industrial history. Solace also comes in opportunistic exploitation of the shifted-box parti, in the form of a 1,000 square-meter rooftop space under a retractable glass enclosure.
