The main contractor is the supervisory contractor of all construction work on a project, management of sub-contractors and vendors, etc. May be referred to as "Construction Manager," however, for consistency CTBUH uses the term "Main Contractor" exclusively.

Located on busy Qingyang Road, Wuxi Maoye City - Marriott Hotel was among a trio of three different projects completed in 2014 as the first supertall buildings in Wuxi. The Wuxi Maoye City - Marriott Hotel is the tallest building in a complex of six towers, with the other five constructed as residential towers. Wuxi Maoye City - Marriott Hotel is positioned on the corner of a large retail podium housing a mall and the Moi department store. The retail uses pass through the first six floors of the tower and into a southward extension of the podium, upon which the two shortest residential towers in the complex were constructed on.
While the five residential towers were constructed with reinforced concrete, Wuxi Maoye City - Marriott Hotel was built as a composite frame composed of a reinforced concrete core and a perimeter structure of hallow steel box columns encased in concrete. The overall structure was built as a core and outrigger system with reinforcing steel belt trusses wrapping a tall mechanical level at floors 26 and 46. The tower is flush with the ground level on two sides and other than the attached podium roof, there are no setbacks over the full height of the building.
The tower is glad in a smooth glass curtain wall with small indentations running vertically up the exterior to the 60th floor before turning horizontal. This feature combined with the exterior grates of the mechanical floors adds visual texture to an otherwise simple façade without any other flourishes.
Wuxi Maoye City - Marriott Hotel is located one block north of Wuxi International Finance Plaza, and together they are the centerpiece of a new central business district and serve as a new focal point for the rapidly growing Wuxi skyline.
