Function
A single-function tall building is defined as one where 85% or more of its usable floor area is dedicated to a single usage. Thus a building with 90% office floor area would be said to be an "office" building, irrespective of other minor functions it may also contain.

A mixed-use tall building contains two or more functions (or uses), where each of the functions occupy a significant proportion of the tower's total space. Support areas such as car parks and mechanical plant space do not constitute mixed-use functions. About Zhe Jiang Fortune Financial Center - Tower 2

The concept for the Zhejiang Fortune Finance Center was to utilize elegant forms which play off each other to create a timeless addition to the Hangzhou Central Business District. Each tower has a sloped top, with the east tower oriented toward the west tower to create a dynamic transition between the two buildings. The two-level plaza that unites the complex is accentuated by a water feature that recalls the nearby Xin Tang River and lends a serene atmosphere to the space. Retail in the lower-level plaza is easily accessed by a grand stair in the center of the upper plaza.

Though the towers have a curvilinear form, the structural design and cladding were able to be standardized. The composite structure has a regular grid spacing of about six meters, while the glazing system is a segmented unitized curtain wall. Wherever possible, materials used for the towers were from regional sources, reducing travel distance and supporting the local economy.
