The CTBUH lists a project manager when a specific firm has been commissioned to oversee this aspect of a tall building’s design/construction. When the project management efforts are handled by the developer, main contract, or architect, this field will be omitted.
The main contractor is the supervisory contractor of all construction work on a project, management of sub-contractors and vendors, etc. May be referred to as "Construction Manager," however, for consistency CTBUH uses the term "Main Contractor" exclusively.

L'Avenue Technical Tour Report
19 September 2014 - Event
Located in Shanghai’s Chang Ning District, L’Avenue Shanghai is a commercial tower development that includes an office tower, a four-story retail podium, and a four-level basement. Built as a flagship project for a prestigious retail brand, L’Avenue Shanghai’s unusual shape renders it a landmark in the district. The unique architectural form conveys the subtle fluidity of the overall design from the tower to the transitional, 60-meter-span skylight, finishing at the curving podium structure. A shell structure of 175-millimeter reinforced concrete with internal stiffeners, finished with glazed ceramic tiles, captures the subtle sparkles emanating from this dynamic, freeform structure.
The freeform approach used in the design of the building’s curvaceous and twisting shape immediately conjures images of an elegant evening gown, while the integration of architectural fins and lighting within the building envelope introduces the concept of a “waterfall” into the lighting design. The design is also environmentally sound – the project received LEED Gold certification in February 2013.
